Your life is one big story, and your wedding day one of the most significant chapters to be written. We love creating a wedding film that tells the story of your day, your life, your love. We believe that a good story is one that is not only seen, but heard. One of the things that makes each of our wedding films so unique and wonderful is hearing the voices of the "main characters" sharing their thoughts, telling their stories in their own words. On May 16, we made our way down to Lexington, KY, to film the wedding of Holly + Travis. This was our first event in Lexington, and also our first time working with the wonderful Tine Hoffman of TM Photography [1]. We had a great time shooting this couple and their beloved dogs! Deanna Dillender of Great Expectations [2] did an excellent job pulling everything together. Holly + Travis had the reception at her parents' farm, and I love the feel of this type of event -- the goal isn't so much to impress people (though everything turned out beautiful), but is more about being a super fun time spent with the couple's closest family and friends. The band Rockhouse [3] most definitely helped them rock the night away, and it was fun to see Travis jump in with the band at the end of the night  and live out his rock star dream! Last month we got to shoot the beautiful wedding of Ekaterina + Eric, while working with one of our vendor faves, Jen with Your Wedding by Jen [1]. We don't have footage to post just yet, but we wanted to give Jen props for putting together a great day! She just wrote about this wedding on her blog, and bragged about all the great vendors that made it possible. ;) She even threw in some non-pro pics, including the one below. If you look closely, you'll see Annette at the top of the steps hiding behind the camera and video light. If you look even closer, you'll see my arms holding my camera and Glidecam at the right edge of the pic. Last summer my friend Jason and I shot John + Amy's outdoor wedding up in Columbus. There was such a great spirit about the whole event -- it was all about family, friends, and of course, Amy's love of children! In fact, when they listed Sara McLaughlin as one of their favorite artists, I decided to use one of her songs from a children's movie -- which also happened to be one of my favorite stories as a kid -- Charlotte's Web! The song is called Ordinary Miracle. I love the way this song fits this trailer, because I think it describes love + marriage so well. We're so used to weddings that they become "ordinary" -- when in fact the relationship at hand is a beautiful miracle that God has brought about! And I think this is a great description of the relationship you'll see here between John + Amy... Their story is a story of friendship -- a couple of real-life high school sweethearts! Megan + Chris are a super sweet couple, and such a pleasure to work with from the moment we met. They were married on April 18, 2009. It turned out to be a beautiful day, and we enjoyed getting our first chance to work with Brenda + Ben of Pottinger Photography [1]. Our first wedding of 2009 was on January 17. It was a beautiful day -- a little frigid, but we had fun all over town shooting this great couple along with Kortnee + Ted of Kortnee Kate [1]. You'll instantly notice what a beautiful couple Brooke + Chris are, but what impresses me so much about them is what genuinely great people they are -- extremely caring, fun, and grounded! They are obviously surrounded by great family and friends -- it was especially fun for me to see and hear all these loved ones talking about the couple during their Friday night rehearsal dinner at the Waterfront (a significant spot if you listen to their story).
