June 26, 2009 marked the wedding day of Antwan + KC! It was a beautiful day all around -- beautiful weather, a beautiful couple, beautiful venues, and a beautiful team of vendors! Antwan + KC got ready at the Westin in downtown Cincinnati, had their ceremony at Ault Park, followed by the reception at the Phoenix. They put together an incredibly talented group of vendors, including Dora Manuel and Sara Ranson of Viva Bella Events, Kortnee and Ted Miller of Kortnee Kate Photography, Chenese Bean Makeup Artistry, Katie Elfers Inspired Floral Designs, Motortoys, Incredible Endings, Goodwin Lighting, and DJ Toad. Back in July we had the privilege of filming Allison + Ben's wedding. I'll always remember first meeting these guys at a Starbucks up by the Dayton Mall! We had a great time getting to know each other that night, and I knew their wedding would be no different. Their ceremony and reception were held at the Dayton Art Institute, which is a great venue for such an event. Love these guys! I have known Dan for several years as he worked with another local videography company, and as he recently started out on his own. One of the things I'll miss the most about filming weddings is working with couples like Frank + Kimmie. They didn't just hire us to video their wedding, they invited us to become a part of their wedding weekend, and film it while we were there! We headed down to Louisville on Friday afternoon, attended the rehearsal, filmed the rehearsal dinner at the Captain's Quarters [1], spent the night in the Hyatt Regency downtown, then had a full 12 hours with the couple on Saturday. Twelve hours is a long day no matter how you slice it, so having such a fun and amazingly sweet couple makes it more of a pleasure as opposed to hard labor! It was fun navigating a totally new city for us, and we enjoyed working with photographer extraordinaire Todd Nichols [2]. Here's a little glimpse into their fun-filled day! This year our anniversary fell on the wedding date of Scott + Elizabeth! I feel privileged that Elizabeth chose us to film their big day -- when I first met with her and her mother, she had obviously done her homework! She knew all the right questions to ask, she took notes on our conversation, and she was very thorough! So to be invited into their day was a big deal. Our last wedding of 2009 -- Ryan + Christina! Incredible couple with a huge heart for God, and I loved having the opportunity to help share their story with their wedding guests. This short film was presented last night (Dec 12) during their ceremony at Crossroads Church [1] in Oakley. The couple loved it, and kept telling us how many great comments they received throughout the evening about it. This made me extremely happy, because one of the first things I remember the couple mentioning was how they wanted to show some type of video at their wedding that expressed the enormity of God's role in their relationship. There was honestly nothing brilliant about the editing or production of this video! The brilliance comes in the fact that this is simply the telling of a beautiful love story that God has written (and IS writing) in the lives of Ryan + Christina! June 20, 2009 marked the wedding day of Diana + Scott in Cincinnati. After my first meeting with these two, I knew this day would make for a fun experience! Not only a terrific couple, but this was our first Macedonian wedding. It was certainly a nice change of pace from our weekly diet of traditional weddings, to say the least. But aside from all the tradition, there was one other thing that made this a unique day -- our groom Scott was attached to a pair of crutches, due to a little soccer incident! But he was quite the trooper, barely letting it slow him down at all. There are just too many stories to tell in this small space, but I'll just say that it was truly a wild celebration, and we enjoyed it!
