One of our former clients, and what I would now consider a current friend, Andy Warner, recently had a baby boy with his beautiful new bride Tiffany. Becoming a husband and father are both great responsibilities — ones that Andy seems to be engaging with such enthusiasm and passion. He’s even using his blog as a way to bring attention to these great roles, which I think is a wonderful thing. Andy recently asked if he could interview me for his blog. The questions center around being a man, a husband, and a father. Because of the importance of the subject matter, and because I try to embrace these roles, though admittedly imperfect in all phases, I quickly agreed. You can read the post here [1]. Spending time with couples like Beth + Greg truly makes me love what I do! Tonight, Annette and I made a special trip to Dayton to see them while they’re in town visiting family for Christmas. We sat down to watch some of their wedding film with them and enjoyed every minute we had with them! We even took a couple minutes to get them on video talking about what they thought of their film, as well as their experience with 28:20. Ok, so if you’ve read our preference page, you know that we like to do brief interviews with the bride and groom on the day of your wedding. It’s a great, yet simple, way to personalize your wedding film. This is absolutely one of our favorite things on your video! However, some guys get a little nervous about the prospect of speaking on camera. Some ladies do, too, but generally it’s the dudes. Yesterday I received an amazing email from Debi, the mother of Tempal, my beautiful Florida bride. Hi...just wanted you to know how amazing the video is. Since you've heard so much about our recent wedding with Beth & Greg, I thought I would share a portion of an email I received from Beth today... Hi Andrew!! I am going to forward you an e-mail I got from my photographer so you can check out her blog...I don't know if she told you how much she enjoyed working with you and Annette, but she loves you guys just as much as Greg and I do!! Thank you SO much for helping to make our day so great! It's so easy to feed off of your laid back attitude and you seem to have some crazy ability to become invisible with that video camera! Everyone told us we should be nervous about having a video camera in our face the entire wedding, but I didn't even notice you and Annette! Are you sure you guys were really videotaping?!?! The bright side of disappointment

This morning proved to be a little disappointing. By 9:30 AM, I had received two inquiries, but both were dates we already have booked! I hate when this happens! But as my optimistic wife pointed out, the calls keep coming, so with that I am pleased. Another thing that softened the blow of disappointment was the email response by one of these young ladies: Hey Andrew...thank you so much for getting back to me and really showing interest! ...And just in case I didn't mention it before, your work is simply amazing. I enjoyed the samples you have on your site immensely and anyone having the privilege to acquire your services is very lucky." Are you serious? Amazing? You enjoyed it immensely? The privilege of acquiring my services? Ok, I admit, that doesn't even sound real! But thank you, Karen! I love hearing it! I was also happy to receive our brand spankin' new business card magnets today. They look SWEET! (Let me know if you need to replace any lame old magnets on your fridge!) So there's "the bright side" for today! Here's to a good night's sleep and hopefully some more bright moments tomorrow... read more
