July weddings

Info

Yes, I’ve become one of THOSE bloggers. You know, the ones who only post like once a month, and so eventually you give up on checking their blog? I hate that. But I hate becoming one of them even more! My bad!

And yeah, I’ve flaked out on the vlogs so far — I keep forgetting to get myself on video! It’s really hard to think about it when you spend all your time BEHIND the camera! I’ll get better, though, I promise! Actually, I know I will for sure, because when we head off to Florida for our destination wedding in September, we’ll be doing a “behind the scenes” video that will give you a fun look at us on location!

Ok, quick run-down on my last couple weddings…

July 19 | Tiffany & Andy. Great couple! Always smiling and enjoying themselves, hamming it up for the camera! I knew just from meeting with these guys that we’d have a fun day together. Wedding was in Glendale, reception at Receptions North in Fairfield. We worked with a couple vendors we haven’t partnered with in a while — Kerri from Rocket Tree and Julie from Cincy Event Planning. We love these ladies! So great to work with — it’s always fun to work with vendors who feel like friends because of previous work experience together. We highly recommend each of these great companies (links also posted in the sidebar)! We also worked with David of Center Stage Creative Events, and he did a bang-up job of keeping things moving during the reception. It was a great day, and an early one at that (we were home by 4:30!), so that was a bonus!

July 26 | Beth & Greg. These guys were crazy fun! Beth was like a model working the camera for her photos! We’ve never witnessed a group of bridesmaids who had as much fun as these girls! It was all very much a reflection of Beth and her “energy,” as Greg describes it! This ceremony and reception took place at the Dayton Art Institute, which was an absolutely beautiful venue! I loved everything about it, except for the sculpture of the naked people holding hands — sorry guys!  Though it did make a great hiding place for me and my tripod up front! ;) We worked our first wedding with Tracy Abston of Pictures by Tracy, and she was very fun and professional. She does great work, and you Dayton brides would be wise to look her up! We again worked with DJ Dan Edwards of Channel 2 fame, and let me tell you, that guy is a hoot! Overall, we could only describe this day as FUN!

August will be yet another busy month for us. We have 3 weddings and a reception, we have several friends who will be traveling into the area to visit us, AND…our oldest boy starts school! Wow, what a trip! Speaking of trips, I have a LOT of editing to do before we can leave for our September destination wedding/vacation in Destin, Florida. We’ll talk more about this as the time approaches — can’t wait! But for now, it’s back to work!
